Hayden Christensen
Owner & Head Instructor of Christensen Golf Academy
With over 18 years of experience in competitive golf atmosphere, Hayden Christensen is the dedicated professional instructor and visionary behind Christensen Golf Academy (CGA). Specializing in personalized, elite golf instruction, Hayden works with players of all levels—from beginners to advanced golfers fine-tuning their competitive skills, as well as helping kids build confidence, mental resilience, and life skills that go beyond the golf course. His coaching emphasizes the importance of discipline, focus, and perseverance, empowering young athletes to succeed both on and off the course.
Hayden’s passion for golf began later than most, but his rapid rise speaks to his dedication. At 18, he moved to St. George and walked on to the Utah Tech University’s golf team (formerly Dixie State University), where he played and traveled for four years (2011-2015). After college, he pursued professional golf for 2 years where he then got his amateur status back to pursue a life with his lovely wife Laura.
After stepping away from professional golf to work in construction and plan for his future, Hayden returned to competitive golf in 2019-2020 as an amateur. During this time, he won over a dozen tournaments and was named Utah Player of the Year. This reaffirmed his passion for the game and proved his ability to compete at the highest level.
With renewed focus, Hayden returned to professional golf with full sponsorship, training with world-class coaches (including Boyd Summerhays, Matt Baird, Mike McGetrick, and Butch Harmon Academy, Titleist Performance Institute) on swing mechanics, mental conditioning, physical fitness, and nutrition. He came close to securing a tour card but faced mental health challenges that eventually led him to an ayahuasca ceremony. During this transformative experience, Hayden envisioned the creation of Christensen Golf Academy. This moment shifted his focus from personal competition to building an academy dedicated to helping others improve their game.
At CGA, Hayden combines his extensive competitive experience with advanced technology like TrackMan and GC Quad to deliver personalized coaching. With experience in over 200 competitive tournaments, Hayden is currently pursuing PGA Master Teacher Professional certification, Hayden’s instruction is both modern and tailored. His teaching philosophy focuses on helping golfers develop a unique swing based on their individual abilities, feel, and goals, but personal health is first and foremost over everything (physical, mental, and spiritual). Whether through cutting-edge technology or traditional methods, Hayden’s approach maximizes each player’s potential for success.
Although Hayden continues to pursue golf professionally, his true passion lies in sharing his knowledge and experience with the juniors, clients, and members of Christensen Golf Academy. He is dedicated to helping individuals grow both as golfers and in their personal lives by instilling values such as hard work, resilience, and sportsmanship. Whether coaching beginners or refining the skills of competitive players, Hayden tailors his instruction to each client’s strengths and goals, ensuring they reach their full potential. He believes that golf offers powerful lessons that translate into life, helping students develop the mindset and skills to succeed both on and off the course.
